Project NIA believes that education is a central part of getting involved in the movement for social change. As such, we organized a series of six workshops about the PIC in collaboration with the Chicago Freedom School from January to June 2010. We called this series of courses the “PIC Communiversity.”

After attending the workshop series, interested individuals were invited to apply to become members of the PIC Teaching Collective. The content of these sessions were archived on our PIC Communiversity Blog. We hope that the blog will serve as a resource to others who might be interested in learning about various aspects of the prison industrial complex.
